Search and Rescue and the Sunday that was different..

Sundays we have a routine. We wake up late, have breakfast, start getting ready for church, and go to the meeting at noon. At 3:30 pm we come back, I prepare Spaghetti and warm bread, we have dinner and then spend the rest of the afternoon watching movies, talking and just being together.
Yesterday was different. Pame (20) called me at 9:30 am: "Mom, How much do the helicopter that rescue people charge?"..."What? Where are you? What are you talking about?"
Well, our sweet daughter, who have being living on her own for the last 5 months, decided not to go to church and instead go hiking. She and her friends got stuck in the top of the mountain and couldn't come down.
I called the police and they called search and rescue. They send a helicopter and an airplane which finally were able to spot them in the middle of the cliff. They also send 3 rescue teams with more than 20 rescuers, ambulance, police cars, and paramedics.
We got to the mountain around 10:15 and by then the first crew was already climbing.
They were able to bring our daughter down around 3:00 pm.
Definitively, it was the normal Sunday we are accustomed to...Pame, next time, could you please go to church instead? :)

Oh, and did I mention that she was in the channel 5 News? How embarassing!! :)
